Ann Mitchell specializes in the rich vocals of the timeless classics that span the Jazz era from the 1930’s-1950’s with unbeatable energy and heart.  Her extensive list of appearances have included: Jazz  90.1 LIVE On Air Concerts, KeyBank Rochester Fringe Festival, JazzBuffalo, Cabaret at Studio B,  Corning Wine and Jazz Festival, The New York State Fair, Rochester Strong Museum’s Making American Music series, Canandaigua Waterfront festival, Fox Rochester’s Good Day Rochester, News 10 NBC - Today Show,  as well as numerous festivals, concerts and more.

Ann studied private voice under Rita Lowe while earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre from SUNY Brockport. Although musical stage performance was the initial goal, she found an opportunity to sing with emerging big band, Brass Menagerie. It was then that Ann realized her niche, as well as passion, in jazz performance. She went on to perform with established jazz trio, Bob Ames & Co., just prior to forming Ann Mitchell Jazz

Ann’s creative passion has been influenced by the many memorable women vocalists such as Peggy Lee, Ella Fitzgerald,  June Christy, Diane Schur, Rosemary Clooney, Patti Page, Judy Garland, Doris Day and more. In any occasion Ms. Mitchell continues to pass on that legacy that has been left by these amazing women through her performances.
